Appalling experience.

4 Front Car Sales

6 weeks ago we went to look for a car which had a sign saying £5995 on the car .

The staff repeatedly kept trying to convince us to get finance but we told them we would like to pay in cash.

We done a test drive and we was said was happy we would like to buy that car.

When we was signing documents he said there is paperwork/admin fee of £180 which we have to pay. Which we accepted.

Then he asked us if we would like warranty on the car, which was £450 for one year.

We said no we don’t want warranty, thats when he became rude and said ‘I am not willing to sell you this car because I can sell this car to a better customer who is willing to pay for finance & warranty’ .

We was so shocked. We spent over 2 hours looking at cars/also took a car for a test drive and listening to him to trying convince us to get finance.

So it’s not the price you pay that they display on there cars. Its false advertising.

You have to add on administration fee and a years warranty fee. Why ask us if we want extra warranty on a car im interested in? if my answer is no they plainy refuse to make a sale and acknowledge your interest as a customer. Shocking experience and i have warned all my friends and family to avoid this dealership. There customer service skills are shocking, there sales skills in making sure basic facts/everything within the sale is mentioned is appalling.

It's been six weeks and they still haven't sold that car we wanted to buy. They refused £6000 pounds cash because they would rather sit and wait for someone to scam into paying all the unadvertised extra's. Dont buy from them

We went to look at a Range Rover Evoke and the attitude of the Sales Person was dreadful. Completely uninterested in selling the car, no knowledge of the product he was selling, told us that the warranty at 4 front was not good and that we would have to buy their additional warranty.

When we told him we were cash buyers he completely switched off and told us to look around at other garages - if this is what the pre sales service is like, I would dread to see what the service team are like! Needless to say we walked out, straight to a land rover dealership and have just bought a very nice Evoke.

Do not waste your time or money with them!

Bought a BMW with an new MOT, got a puncture 3 weeks later and went to get it fixed. The tyre shop told me it also needed 3 tyres as the wires were hanging out on the insides.

Contacted Forfront who said “ you could of been ragging the car for the last few weeks so it’s hard to prove” I’m nearly 60 and had to ask someone what ragging is. I’m not the type of person to take this further but would NEVER go back or recommend, stay away from people like this.

The old saying prices to good to be true - All cars clocked

So checking ebay and come across lots of BMW's being sold by eltham4frontcarsales, prices just under market value for the millage and age. I now investigate all cars after being stung before and can say after checking multiple cars they have for sale, they have all been clocked, they make sure the clocking is not lower than the year before but how can multiple cars have only done under 70 miles in a year.

There are legitimate reasons for say possible one car but I am now checking the 5th car on their site entering the reg into the vosa mot history check comparing pictures of the millage on the dash and they have slipped up on some of these. one car listed at the moment has 48,534 on the current MOT carried out in February 2017, the previous MOT in 2016 was 48,512, so this car has had to be driven by the previous owner from the garage that carried out the test in 2016 to home and never used the car until they drove it to sale to 4 front cars. So you maybe thinking there could be a reason but then looking at the pictures of this lovely BMW one shows the dash showing a slightly lower millage than the MOT this year 48,529 - alarm bells going off if not search another car they have for sale and you will see a pattern appearing they like to have them clocked back to under 70 miles from the last MOT the year before. I will not be purchasing one from them and will keep looking, I have no reason to lie about this and want anyone reading this and thinking of buying from them to do a lot of investigations as all your going to get is a car that is not as good buy as you think.

I said further up I got stung once before on a BMW and lucky for me the cowboy that had it clocked must have got the worst person ever to do it as though the clock was changed once hooked up to a pc with software freely available - I could read the error log file showing a difference in Millage. I contacted one of the websites that show online to get a car clocked and asked for the millage to be increased, a few thought I was taking the P!ss but one guy listened to my situation and I met him on a car park of a derelict pub, 10 minutes later millage corrected to slightly over the error log reporting and cost 70.

So it does not cost much at all and the guy advised he normally does full garage forecourts and depending on the amount of cars he will reduce the price to 25 if he has 20+ cars to do in a day, he was very honest (apart from his chosen career) and I was the first person he had ever had asked to increase the millage back to what it should be. So I would avoid this place like the plague

Having just read this and bought a Mercedes with 48,500 something on the clock which is now fully broken and has been for 5 months I am now thinking that my car has been clocked also. Will be looking further into this. Thanks for your review.

Very Poor Service and repairs carried out under the warranty

I purchased a second hand vehicle from 4 Front Car Sales Ltd (Haywards Heath). Within 2 weeks several mechanical problems became apparent.

When contacting them they appeared helpful and agreed to carry out the works under the warranty. After having to leave the vehicle with them for 3 days, one problem was still not fixed, but I had to collect it as I rely on my vehicle for work and was not given a courtesy car when I requested one. The next week due to a burst tyre at the roadside I found out that the spare tyre they had given me with the vehicle was completely the wrong size, for the wrong model. Leaving me stranded.

Within 4 months, the handbrake shoes they had fitted under the warranty snapped causing the handbrake module to break. They have refused to cover the cost to have my vehicle made road worthy again, despite the problem being due to a faulty/old part they fitted, as I had to have the work carried out at a local independent garage to get the full problem investigated, as all trust in the company had gone. I have proof from the garage that the shoes have sheared and they are happy to speak to 4 Front Car Sales and confirm their findings, plus the report they issued. 4 Front are not interested in this.

They clearly "bodged" the work and cut costs when selling vehicles, using the excuse to me that this was not a new or expensive vehicle (sold for ~8,000). Despite their website saying the are specialists in selling used vehicles!

I do not trust these dealers or the garages they use for works and would avoid them at all costs in the future! Do not touch with a barge pole!

5 Star service, not sure what the problem is!!!!

Having read a lot of negative reviews about this company I was naturally concerned about them however they were advertising a car I desperately wanted so I decided to give them a try and see for myself. My first impression was WOW, the forecourt, cars and facilities are very impressive.

Everything was well presented the salesman was a pleasure to deal with (Lee was his name) and having bought the car and owned it now for 2 months without any issues I thought I would do them a favour and tell you all that these bad reviews seem unfair to me based on my experience.

I think its true to say that we live in a world where people would rather take the time to complain rather than do the same to compliment. If your not sure give them a go and see for yourself!

False comment, here is my 5 month waiting for my car to be fixed £19000 down off these guys. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM 4FRONTCARSALES READ THIS STORY FIRST.

I BOUGHT MY MERCEDES E CLASS 220 **** SPORTLINE ON JAN 31ST. WITHIN 3 MONTHS APPROX THE CAR WAS BROKEN WITH MAJOR ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO OVER FUELING OF THE 4TH PISTON WITH NO WARNING WHATSOEVER CAUSING ALMOST A FATAL MOTORWAY ACCIDENT. PUTTING THE DANGER CAUSED BY THIS ENGINE FAILURE TO ONE SIDE I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT A CAR SINCE JUNE WHEN THE ENGINE BLEW UP WHILST I WAS DRIVING THE CAR. HAVING SENT THE CAR TO THE MECHANICS AUTHORISED BY 4FRONTCARSALES AND AUTOGUARD WARRANTY I HAVE NOW WAITED 5 MONTHS APPROX AND HAVE STILL NOT GOT A WORKING VEHICLE.

IN THIS TIME I HAVE SPENT THOUSANDS ON RENTAL CARS DURING WHEN IN ACTUAL FACT THE DEALERSHIP IS LIABLE TO PROVIDE ME WITH A WORKING VEHICLE OR A REFUND. DUE TO THE ABOVE I HAVE BEEN LEFT WITH NO CHOICE BUT TO FILE LEGAL CLAIMS OF COURT ORDERS AND MONEY CLAIMS BY GOVERNMENT AGENCIES FOR THE AMOUNT OF £12,000 AND £1000 FOR THE COST OF THE CAR AND THE WARRANTY, AND HAVE MADE A CLAIM WITH MY BANK TO CHARGE BACK FUNDS PAID TO THIS COMPANY FOR UNSATISFACTORY GOODS WHICH IS COMPLETELY IN MY RIGHT TO DO. I WILL ALSO BE MAKING A CLAIM FOR ANY FUNDS I HAVE PAID FOR RENTAL VEHICLES AND OTHER MEANS OF TRANSPORT SINCE THE CAR HAS BEEN OFF THE ROAD WHICH WOULD AMOUNT TO AROUND £5000 - £7000.

I've visited this dealership on a few occasions now, just browsing, and then recently bought a lovely BMW from them and I couldn't be happier. From reading all these negative reviews, I can confidently say that I disagree with all of them.

People moaning about cars going wrong; yes it's a used car, it will go wrong, they all do eventually!! The guys there are all extremely friendly and patient, showing me around a few different models and explaining how they would benefit (or not benefit!) the type of usage my car would have.

They aren't pushy in the slightest and are happy to show me what all the buttons do in the car itself. Definitely coming back here for my next car!

Yes selling the car to you is not the problem and even the car going wrong is not the problem. The problem is getting the car fixed by 4-Front as they don’t want to know. I’m sure you will be happy until this time.

I dont normally leave reviews, but i will do this time as some of the reviews on here nearly put me off going to look at a car. Excellent customer service.

Offered me a fair price for my car, not a silly offer like most other dealers do. Steve put no pressure on me at all to buy the car or extras. Also, i left a £300 deposit with them, which would be refunded once they received my v5 ( i was abit dubious about this), but as soon as they signed for my v5, they had sent the deposit back to me and sent proof of payment to my email.

Would recommend this dealer to anybody. Thanks

Appalling customer service. None.

Zero. The sales rep had no ownership over his own sales and had to refer everything past the manager. There was a severe lack of communication between the sales rep and manager. I was not given a call back when promised.

No negotiation on price of the car and no negotiation on some drive away petrol in the tank. The car wasn't ready when I came to collect and after previously pointing out chips and cracked windscreen, their repair was in my opinion substandard. I suggested an independent inspection but the manager gave absolutely no consideration of the same. I would not recommend the branch at 5 Ways Mottingham.

There was no consideration for the amount of money I wanted to spend with them and they made the whole customer experience turn on a pin head. I went from going to collect my car to walking away within 5 minutes as they were clearly not bothered about satisfying my concerns or my sale.

Found the whole experience of 4 front to be somewhat pressurised and was left feeling angry! The bmw centre was an absolute joke!

Under valued my part exchange massively and found the staff to be very rude especially the tall over weight salesman! Who seemed to think he owned the company!!

We instead purchased our new car from another dealer! 0 out of 10 I'm afraid!!!!!!

Complete cowboys they don't know their front wheel drive from their rear wheel drive. They will sell you a variety of uneeded and complete made up lies based on very small and made up knowledge.

.. . Avoid these cowboys they know very little when it comes to cars.......

they know lots when it comes to comes to commission though lol. You do the math best of luck

You have terrible spelling and grammar . Looks like a bogus review if ever i saw one . Any bogus review must make one feel that the company you are writing about cant be that bad and possibly doing the job properly and maybe you yourself are in the trade to tarnish other local businesses .

Don't ever buy a car from 4front car sales in eltham, as I brought a Vauxhall Astra I've had the vehicle 8 months and only done 4000 miles in it. I got a warrenty from autoguard which the man at 4front lee said I needed to get so I paid 300 pound for a warrenty that doesn't stand because I never got my vehicle serviced in first 6 months of having the vehicle.

I usually get my vehicle services every 6000 !! 4 front where no help as my gear box completely went !! They didn't give me most of the paper work I was meant to be given .. I will never use them again and will never recommend ..

I went to talk to them about my problems and they where so smug about the whole thing with big grins .. Rubbish company!!!

I am very fussy about customer service and would be the first to complain if things were not good. I can only speak for my own experience.

I dealt with the Haywards Heath branch. The staff were very polite and kind. Nothing was too much trouble when it came to choosing a 4x4. My wife and I had a good look around the sales front and were given the keys to a number of cars to look in.

The only proviso was not to start them up which I thought was reasonable. I am disabled so we wanted a car with easy access, comfortable seats and room for wheelchair etc. we finally settled on a Range Rover. The salesman, Alex, has extensive experience of Land Rovers having worked at a Main Dealer.

The only thing wrong with the car was a misted up rear offside lamp cluster and it had 5 months MOT. Alex got the light cluster replaced and a new MOT was put on it. It passed with no advisories. As we were in holiday, it was about 5 weeks before we collected the car.

Alex trusted us to pay the balance when we said we would (about 3 weeks after putt g a deposit down). The car was absolutely immaculately prepared when we went to collect it. I am very impressed with the company and the car.

Alex was a pleasure to do business with and the car is fantastic. I hope that others have a similar experience.

Bought a car a few weeks ago and had a couple of minors faults, such as the clutch making some crunching noises and the electric windows not working properly! They haven't replied to any of my mails and they have not return my calls, after the sale they don't even care about you anymore. Avoid them!!!!
